Boy, am I ever glad I accompanied Cindy to her annual retreat for clients of the Erin Murphy Literary Agency! Because guess what? I got to MEET several of the authors whose books I’ve recommended. And guess what else? I even got to hear a little about their upcoming projects. Believe me, there will soon be more spectacular books for me to recommend!
Here I am with Jeannie Mobley, author of Katerina’s Wish. Click here to read my thoughts on this amazing story about a girl determined to help create a better life for her family. A few weeks later I also interviewed the chickens featured in the book. Click here if you want to see why they felt upstaged by a “magic” carp.
I also got to take my picture with Mike Jung! He wrote a fantastic book called Geeks, Girls, and Secret Identities. Click here if you’d like to be reminded about how Vincent Wu has to save the entire town and why I want to be a member of the Captain Stupendous Fan Club!
Finally, I loved meeting Ruth McNally Barshaw. She’s the super-talented author AND illustrator of the Ellie McDoodle series. Click here to see my recommendation of the first book, Ellie McDoodle: Have Pen, Will Travel. This story shows how Ellie draws in her sketchbook to help her cope with obnoxious relatives on a camping trip.
And if that wasn’t enough, my whiskers were trembling with excitement when I posed with Ammi-Joan Paquette! My agent! Okay, maybe she’s actually Cindy’s agent, but she only signed Cindy because she liked ME. She’s also an author herself and her first middle-grade book, Nowhere Girl, is on my never-ending list of books to recommend to you. Stay tuned, it’s worth the wait. The second, Rules For Ghosting, comes out in July. I can’t wait to read it, too!
